Beaches on the Costa Blanca
- Denia -
A 20km coastline of Blue Flag beaches and small, beautiful coves popular with families. The best are the 11km Las Marines and the cove of Marineta Cassiana.
- Alicante -
La Playa de San Juan boasts 7km of golden sand flanked by a road, so you can stop where you want for easy access. El Postiguet, near Alicante, offers sandy fun at the foot of the Benacantil mountain. La Albufereta, protected by the Serra Grossa headland, offers seclusion and privacy.
- Benidorm -
Seven kilometres of sandy beaches get busy in summer, but curve appealingly from both sides of Benidorm's Old Quarter promontory. East of town is Playa de Levante, to the west is Playa de Poniente. The latter is quieter and less congested.
- Calpe -
This pretty sand beach has a dramatic aspect thanks to the 350m Penon de Ifach rock face which juts out of the sea right opposite the holiday town of Calpe.
- Moraira -
Sandy beaches like Plagetes and El Portet alternate with private rocky coves where medieval pirates evaded tax duties. If privacy is required, head for L'Andrago, Punta Estrella and La Cala.
- Carabassi Beach -
Located in Gran Alacant, Carabassi beach is said to be one of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca. The golden sands of Carabassi beach are enclosed within dunes and pine trees that stretch from Arenales in the north, past the Cabo de Santa lighthouse, and on to the fishing port of Santa Pola itself, over 5 kilometres away. There are numerous sections of this beach where children can play safely in wide spances of shallow waters, and you can even go snorkelling over the rocky outcrops that are home to many varieties of fish,a short distance from the shore.
